Field Trip Activities
At this time we are not able to have field trips during the work week as all of our teachers have other jobs. We could, however, have your group come out on the weekends, or in the late afternoon or evenings. Most classes have a minimum of 5 participants. Email education@bcscience.org to schedule your group's trip.
Join us to learn about what stars are made of and how they are grouped into constellations in the night sky. We will also explore our planet’s favorite star— the sun!

his class is designed for ages 5 and up who love dinosaurs and those who want to know more. We will explore the similarities and differences of the dinosaurs as well as try our hand at digging out our own “fossils.”

Let’s learn about animals that are good at camouflaging themselves in their environments. Then we will use art supplies to creatively camouflage a paper animal!

Cyanotypes are prints made with a photographic process where photosensitive chemicals are exposed to sunlight. The final product is blue where the surface was exposed to light and the color of the paper where the light was blocked.

Come explore the chemistry behind tie- dyeing! Bring two 100% cotton t-shirts to dye and learn how chemical reactions can make beautiful textiles. No previous experience or knowledge required! This class is designed for For ages 10 and up. Younger students ARE welcome with an adult to help them.

Join us to create and build your own table top arcade style game! You will work through the engineering and design process as you invent your game. We will provide all the supplies - you bring your creativity! This class is designed for upper elementary and middle school age students.

Learn some facts about the planets in our solar system as well as the mythology of their names. Listen to music inspired by the planets as we make expressive paintings then use those papers to create fantasy solar system collages!

If your groups wants a private night sky observation we are available to do that for you. Your evening with us would include a brief presentation and a chance to look through a telescope or two! We have several different types and sizes for you to look through!

Come out and walk through our native prairie while read a book! This path is approximately 1/4 mile long with a new book posted at the beginning of each month.
